Jai Santos is considered to be a brother, a friend and my best thesis partner. Through my years at IIT, this guy was ahead of me, in terms of years however, when I was to write my thesis as a requirement for graduation, he was suddenly my research partner. I had not asked for it but what happened was history.
For those months we made our thesis together, we encountered many challenges, both in distributing and retrieving our questionnaires, our interviews, our encoding of manuscripts and analysis of the raw data. He was a good research partner because he was the kind of research assistant who is good in preparing coffee for us as we spent until 3AM writing our thesis.
In the end, we were able to comply with our requirements and graduated. He finally, graduated and we separated ways. Funny at those time, I can recall we had exchanged shirt or city-shorts at that time. 14 years hence, we met again in Ozamis City when I was on a break from my PhD class at La Salle University. We were reconnected through friendster and we kept on getting in touch by text and our friendship grew beyond the years.
We met again during the alumni homecoming in IIT. We made our stories some 14 years ago and now, our research is still in IIT, particularly at the Marketing Department and it serves as a testament of our research partnership which resulted to our graduating on time.
No doubt, Jai is my best thesis partner. He was the best because until now, I prefer working on thesis and dissertation as well as researches alone. That was how he was, he made me decide not to work with anybody again. Lisod ngita ug thesis partner nga mag-sige ug timpla kape! hehehehehhehe
