I and my Iraqi friend, Anas Saeed, a professor from an Islamic College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, went to the Empire Cinema, as we were toured around by the students of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Our visit to the famed and opulent Empire Hotel stemmed from a tourist magazine we came across during the conference which says greatly about the hotel. We were brought to the hotel by the students and we left our university hostel at 11PM, and just visited the hotel and to the cinema.
It is in the Empire Cinema that we met the Crown Prince of Negara Brunei Darussalam. They watched a movie with his younger brother. The Crown Prince drives his own Mercedes Benz.
This is our first time to visit Brunei and we appreciated the tour organized by the students of the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam. They are great tourist guides and went as far to show us around.
After our visit to the Empire Cinema, we went to a famous Jeradung Park, an impressive park where horses are kept. We saw many horse tracks and impressive parks built for the ordinary Bruneians who loved their Sultan and the Royal Family.
