Universiti Brunei Darussalam accepts Cagape’s paper for presentation

Another milestone has been capped anew by the Board Secretary of the JH Cerilles State College and PhD in Educational Management Student of La Salle University, as it was announced on February 14, 2008 that the organizers of the 13th International Conference on Education has accepted his research paper entitled, “Ethical Standards in Tests: Test Preparation and Administration in Philippine Education, A Study in Zamboanga del Sur”. The announcement was made by Dr Su’aidi Bin Dato Safei, Registration Sub-committee Chairman of the conference.

His research paper is his contribution to the effective integration of research undertakings in the academe, most especially in the Higher Education system. It is also one of his Doctoral researches at the Graduate School of Education at the La Salle University. Cagape has been to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 2-7, 2008 to present his paper on Madrasah Education at the 1st International Language Conference hosted by the International Islamic University of Malaysia. His paper was well received by researchers and academics who came from universities in Europe, Australia, Middle East and Asia.

Mr. Cagape is presently pursuing his PhD in Educational Management at the La Salle University and has obtained units in PhD in Development Management at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University. He obtained his MA in Foreign Service from the Lyceum of the Philippines University in Manila and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) from the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology.

At present, Mr. Cagape serves as a member of the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa which is being chaired by renowned international author, Sir Bernard Lewis. He also serves at one time, a staff member of Senator Edgardo J. Angara of the Philippine Senate and has served as a professorial lecturer in the Department of Consular and Diplomatic Affairs, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. He has also served as Provincial Information Officer for the Province of Zamboanga del Sur in 2004-2006 and effectively supported the Fifth and the Sixth Country Program for Children of the UNICEF.

Expected to hear from the research paper of Mr. Cagape delegates to the 13th International Conference on Education as well as invited keynote speakers; Prof. John Furlong, Director of the Oxford University Department of Educational Studies, Oxford University in the United Kingdom, Prof. Lo Mun Ling, Head, Center for Learning-Study and School Partnership of the Hong Kong Institute of Education and Prof. Debra Myhill, Head, School of Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Exeter, in the United Kingdom.

This is the first among the first of Mr. Cagape. His paper was among the first to be accepted in the different conferences in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Malaysia, Kunming, People’s Republic of China and recently now, in the 13th International Conference on Education hosted by the Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
