An Iraqi from Baghdad and A Filipino from Pagadian

Anas Saeed from Baghdad, Iraq who recently relocated to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and built a small family for his own became my room-mate, friend and supporter. We were together in going to Brunei Darussalam and met at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport as we both waited for our flight via Air Asia to Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Actually, we are four (4) in our group from Kuala Lumpur who became very closed allies during our stay in Brunei. One brother came from Nigeria and is finishing his own PhD at the International Islamic University Malaysia, a brother from India who is also finishing his own PhD from IIUM, Malaysia and Anas. All the days we spent in Brunei, we were the constant companion, but Anas became my supporter.

I came for his presentation and listened to him as he presented a wonderful paper abour Arabic grammar among Malay students in his Islamic College. I appreciated his views on Arabic and Islamic language. He also came during my presentation and was the one taking my pictures during my presentation.

I understood Iraq better because of my friendship with brother Anas. He gave me fresh insights and directly from an Iraqi who flee his own country to find a place where he can be safe and earn a living for his wife and very beautiful baby girl.
