The Capirig Family is one of the family friends that my late father, Prudencio Acain-Cagape keeps. They had been a source of friendship and support for my late dad and my mum now still values their friendship and support.
This was after a Sunday church services that we accompanied mum at the United Church of Christ in the Philippines in which we were invited for a dinner at the Guillermo Hotel. As a support to my mum and to keep the tradition of my late father, we accepted the dinner invitation with sincerity.
Our dinner together has brought together old memories of my late father and Uncle Nonoy Capirig, who also hails from Labason, a quaint locale in Zamboanga del Norte. Both Uncle Nonoy and my late dad graduated from the Zamboanga del Norte Agricultural College. Both of them too worked at the Department of Agriculture and until the untimely demise of my father, they are both inseparable.
We can remember that every New Year, or perhaps on Easter Sunday, we got invited to a family outing which my mum and dad attends. We cherished those moments and look forwards to a new way to remember the legacy of my late dad through our unique friendship.
